Welcome to March, the season of green. We’re talking about the green that’s suddenly popping up after a long, gray winter; the festive greens of people celebrating St. Patrick’s Day; and, of course, there’s keeping your business in the green with a growth mindset and cheerful, hard work.

The Smart Way to Do Spring Cleaning
As spring arrives and brings with it refreshing breezes instead of freezing temperatures, many of us are eager to throw open our windows and embrace the new season. If you’re feeling the urge to embark on some deep cleaning, why not take a few additional steps to protect your home in the process?

Change Your Batteries:
While you’re up there, dusting away those cobwebs from the ceiling corners, refresh the batteries in your carbon monoxide and smoke detectors.

Check Your Gutters and Downspouts:
Make sure your gutters are clean and free from debris. Properly functioning gutters and downspouts direct water away from your home, preventing it from collecting around your foundation and causing damage.

Sump Pump Savvy:
Rain showers bring May flowers, but they can also bring headaches. If you have a sump pump, make sure it’s in good working order before the spring showers hit. Regular maintenance and a test run can be the difference between a dry basement and a costly flood.
